Eilish Fogarty - Painting

Although Eilish Fogarty is skilled in depicting a vast range of subjects, her paintings always express a reverence for
place – particularly the pastoral scenes and period architecture surrounding her home at Tullamore, Co Offaly.
She also revels in capturing scenes from all around the country. From Connemara to Dun Laoghaire, from the Ring of Kerry to the Cliffs of Moher, her subjects express her wonder and awe at the inherent beauty of Ireland.
Highly detailed and true to the scenes she chooses to represent, Eilish’s style is nevertheless interpretive as well as realistic. Her images of the canal, the Slieve Bloom mountains, and local bridges, lakes, rivers, fields and farms vary dramatically depending on the time of day and season of the year in which they were painted.
Indeed – especially in her vivid still-life studies – you could say her central subject is light itself: the way it alters and informs our perceptions at any given moment.
A multiple award-winning artist who exhibits regularly around the midlands, Eilish is always happy to take commissions, lovingly interpreting a scene of particular meaning to her clients.
