Tom Kavanagh - TK Walking Sticks

Tom Kavanagh hand crafts sturdy and stunning walking sticks, using techniques and design concepts that haven’t changed for millennia, and some very contemporary methods to create sticks that are at once strong, functional and beautiful.

Tom’s sticks combine a seasoned and straightened stem of hazel, blackthorn, holly, ash or chestnut with handles fashioned from hardwood, antler or, his favourite material: horn. These he smoothes to a glass-hard shine, often carving intricate figures or details into the handle. In Tom’s hands a modest stick becomes a work of a living traditional art.
